Join Poet in the City as they celebrate seminal poet Seamus Heaney and reflect on what his poetry can teach us about today’s rapidly changing society. A major poet of the twentieth century, Seamus Heaney lived life with a strong sense of social and cultural responsibility. Set against the backdrop of the Northern Irish Troubles, Heaney’s poetry tapped into a humanity which transcended political and cultural divides and found its way into the hearts of readers across the world. This event is in collaboration with Faber Members for Faber’s 90th anniversary.
