When approaching Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, it's difficult to know where to begin. Its musical scope and cultural weight are beyond description, beyond measure. A musical expression of the Enlightenment, Beethoven's last great symphony unites and inspires, provokes and questions, with ideas as relevant to us in the 21st century as to those sitting at its premiere almost two hundred years ago. Beethoven’s symphonies are performed in this concert series featuring Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (SBSOV) at Barcelona's Palau de la Musica.
