World Ballet Day returns on 29 October 2020 for a global celebration to unite the dance community as it faces the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Join us as we celebrate the best creative teams, dancers and artistic communities across the world, bringing companies together to celebrate past, present and future. This year The Bolshoi Ballet will devote their World Ballet Day broadcast to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The theatre celebrates the 180th anniversary of the composer's birth with a festival, unfolding on the stage after a period of self-isolation. You will see fragments of rehearsals for the performances of Sleeping Beauty (rehearsed by Anastasia Denisova and Egor Gerashchenko), Swan Lake (rehearsed by Olga Marchenkova and Artem Ovcharenko), The Nutcracker (the Bolshoi Corps de Ballet), Onegin (rehearsed by Olga Smirnova and Ruslan Skvortsov).
